때로는 감정을 전달하기도, 때로는 추억을 불러일으키기도 합니다. 특히 음악은 문자와 함께 어울려졌을 때, 굉장한 힘을 불러일으킵니다.
음악을 구성하는 요소 중, 문자로 이루어진 가사는 음악을 이미지로 표현할 수 있게 만듭니다. 그저 듣는 것으로 끝이나는 것이 아닌, 가사를 들음으로 상황을, 시간을, 순간을 상상할 수 있게 만듭니다. 노래 자체에 좀 더 몰입할 수 있게 만들며, 본인만의 이야기를 만들어가기도 합니다.
이번 작품은 한 노래가 가지고 있는 가사를 시각적으로 재해석 해봤습니다. 단순한 문장의 나열에서, 그래픽 효과와 한글이 가지고 있는 다양한 외형 변화를 통해 형태가 갖추어지지 않은 콘텐츠에 감정적으로 몰입할 수 있는 상황을 선사하고자 합니다. 흥미롭고 아름다운 문장이, 이를 바라보는 관람자들에게 깊은 몰입감과 시각적인 즐거움을 느낄 수 있기를 희망합니다.
뉴진스의 어텐션이라는 음악을 가사와 함께 들었을 때, 시원하면서 부드러운 바람의 이미지와 풋풋하면서 당당한 사랑의 이미지가 동시에 떠올랐습니다. 이 두 가지 키워드를 주로 보여주면서 한글 레터링은 부드러운 곡선과 불균형적인 비례를 활용해 풋풋하면서도 사랑에 대해 당당한 느낌을 살렸으며, 그래픽은 한 가지의 색과 비트맵 요소를 사랑이라는 감정을 흥미로우면서도 정적이지 않게 표현했습니다. 어느 한 요소가 특별하게 보이는 것이 아닌 두 가지 요소가 조화로운 모습을 보여 이미지와 함께하는 레터링 디자인을 통해 관람자에게 가사를 통해 받을 수 있는 이미지와 상황을 상상해보기를 바랍니다.

This work is a visual reinterpretation of the lyrics of a song. In the simple list of sentences, we would like to provide a situation where you can emotionally immerse yourself in content that is not in form through graphic effects and various changes in the appearance of Hangeul. I hope that interesting and beautiful sentences will give viewers a deep sense of immersion and visual pleasure.
When I listened to the music of Newjeans' Attention with the lyrics, I thought of both a cool and soft wind image and a fresh and confident love image. By showing these two keywords, Hangeul lettering uses soft curves and disproportionate proportions to bring out a fresh yet confident feeling about love, and the graphic expresses one color and bitmap element in an interesting and static way.
